Pool Tile Crab:
The Crab is said to be one of the most popular mosaic designs for swimming pools along with Dolphins and Turtles. This Crab design is made from many different tiles to form a mosaic image, each mosaic piece is individually laid down into the pool tiles and grouted in.
Alternatively the mosaic can come "ready made" which just requires grouting.
Pool Tile Crab mosaic creation:
Each design is made up of numerous small tiles of all shapes and sizes fired in a kiln first to create the hard bisque. After the bisque has cooled, the the color glaze is said to be hand painted on each small piece. Some pieces apparently have three or more colors to create the look for that design. Then once again these tiles are fired at very high temperature to create the color and deep gloss glaze that claims to make the designs so eye catching.
Designs are said to start to come to life after each small piece of hand painted tile is adhered to the backer mesh. Tile by tile the mosaic is created.
Pool Tile Crab and similar mosaics:
The Crab is just one of many water related mosaics that can be installed into a swimming pool, There are several other designs such as Dolphins, Sharks, Seahorses and apparently many more.
The Pool tile crab design would be installed into the walls or the bottom of the swimming pool to give it a better effect underwater when the pool is finished.
